Why UI/UX?
I've always liked art and drawing, and UI/UX was the perfect intersection of design and technology for me! Starting in my teenage years, I've been interested in how technology, our actions, and interactions in the digital space transform and shape our lives in the physical world.
As a result, I'm passionate about ethics and design, including cross-cultural design, algorithmic bias, and human-centered design.
What do you enjoy outside of design?
Honestly, I've been trying to pick up old hobbies like reading and drawing. I'm currently reading Eiger Dreams by Jon Krakauer, and recently finished The Cabinet by Kim Un-su. I also like to play games (board games and video games alike) with friends!
I also enjoy watching films, and animated series. Some of my favorite films are Project Hail Mary, Nezha, and I Can Speak. Animated series I like are Link Click and Soul Eater.
I've dabbled in language learning over the years- studying German for two years and Korean for three. Recently I've been relearning them, as well as casually studying Japanese and Russian. I think the beauty of language is not just communication with others, but also learning about other cultures through the norms reflected in their languages.
Want to listen to some music I like? Use the iPod!
What games do you play?
I'm a long-time (version 1.0!) Genshin player, and in the past year I've started playing Valorant as well. Before that, I've played League of Legends for a while (I know), Honkai: Star Rail, Onmyoji, and Tears of Themis. I also really like Tetris.
